Its intense cross-functional approach means that problems are identified and dealt with quickly and effectively – and protects customers from non-conforming products. Danfoss implements an improved problem solving procedure Based on the TS16949 quality standard, which strives for continuous quality improvement, the 8D tool includes a checklist of eight corrective and preventive measures based on data collection and analysis. These measures assure that actions to improve quality are based on facts, the root cause of the problem is addressed, and the solution proves effective. And response is rapid – within two working days a containment action is taken to ensure that further deliveries are problem-free. Danfoss is currently using this procedure to optimise the solution of problems brought to our attention by our large OEM customers.
